Khudi Ka Sirr-e-Niha’n” (The Secret of Selfhood)
خودی کا سرِّ نہاں لا الٰہ الا اللہ
خدی ہے تیغ، فساں لا الٰہ الا اللہ
یہ دور اپنے براہیم کی تلاش میں ہے
صنم کدہ ہے جہاں، لا الٰہ الا اللہ
کیا ہے تُو نے متاعِ غرور کا سودا؟
فریبِ سود و زیاں، لا الٰہ الا اللہ
یہ مال و دولتِ دنیا، یہ رشتہ و پیوند
بتانِ وہم و گُماں، لا الٰہ الا اللہ
(English Translation)
The secret of the self is “There is no god but Allah.”
The Self is a sword, and its whetstone is“There is no god but Allah.”
This age longs for another Abraham,
For every house has become a temple of idols again
“There is no god but Allah.”
You have bartered your soul for the pride of possessions,
Deceived by profit and loss
“There is no god but Allah.”
This wealth and worldly ties that charm your eyes,
They are but illusions and doubts
“There is no god but Allah.”
🌸 Meaning / Explanation (تشریح)
یہ نظم علامہ اقبالؒ کے فلسفۂ “خودی” کا نچوڑ ہے۔
اقبال کہتے ہیں کہ انسان کی اصل طاقت خودی (Selfhood) ہے
اور اس کی بنیاد “لا الٰہ الا اللہ” کے اقرار میں ہے۔
جب انسان اپنی خودی پہچان لے،
تو وہ ہر باطل سے آزاد ہو جاتا ہے۔
اقبال کا پیغام ہے کہ ایمان، علم اور عمل کے ذریعے
اپنی “خودی” کو بلند کرو- تاکہ خدا خود تمہاری تقدیر لکھے۔
